"For less than a coffee a day"; usually what this starts with.

I'm starting to believe that these organizations never truly can see that some people can't even afford their own. The reason this is brought up? I'm at the hospital right now with my wife (no, nothing's wrong to those of you outside of the know, just check-ups on the baby) and one of these commercials came on the television in the waiting room a few moments ago.

A girl who was sitting beside me started crying, pointing to the screen saying that would be her. Thanks to the fact that aside from the teenage groups, I was alone and around the only adult figure around, I figured I'd offer what I could to ease the situation...

Looking down, I saw more than what I had seen before. She was here alone, and was indeed, very young. Currently her mother was going through breast cancer she said... and we talked about the experience in my family with my father's lung and my brother's blood cancer.

Really, I'd end it there... not wanting to bring this up any further. Something about this makes me realize something... for just a coffee a day we could be doing so much more... Were we to take our own initiative, we wouldn't perhaps have to deal with some things in the world that are in place right now.

Just a coffee a day...
